Bitterness

Bitterness is a poison pill, a snare
that strong spirits avoid. It is best
to succeed, but even failure can teach
or summon the laughter that shakes the gods.
I would win, but, more importantly,
I would maintain my equilibrium.
So let me digest this discomfort right here,
in these pages, where much of the source of it lies.
