Inside You All Along

The conflict between inner and outer necessity
breeds repression. After naysaying and too much silence
the inner voice retreats to who-knows-where, and waits
until some coaxer calls it out. But not all coaxers
can be trusted. Some come to destroy, and send the voice
back into itself, even deeper than before. I will try here
to be the good kind. I will give you room to expand.
But you must locate this voice in yourself. It is yours.
It has been inside you all along.
