But the Lady will not slumber.
She has awoken, and I can see,
for the first time, the path to harmony,
song and fire blending across the spheres
and into a home worthy of memory,
worthy of all who have come before and all who will come,
for it is they whom the Lady signifies,
the primordial ooze of the brain.
She will not go away, but she is no tyrant
any longer. Her laws are friendly, and I
will serve this image with reverence and awe,
entrusting its power to those with ears to hear.
I know who she is, and I will not expect
any incarnation to match exactly, but I
will let her sing to me about things to come,
and I will translate her song in these pages.
I will not waver. She reminds me
what life is, what humans are,
and she no longer demands a blood-price.
She knows a better way.
