Find Your Way Home

Lost and confused, too broken
to care, she walks on the side
of the road, going anywhere. Time
would heal nothing, and not even love
could touch wounds so deep she doubted
all but despair. I was there
myself, but not quite myself,
a phantom of hope, or a glimpse
of some other place, where dreams
don't have to die or possess, where
some thrive despite many impediments.
She heard this call and responded.
Together we walked a while, until
I had to continue my journey elsewhere.
I said to her:
Find your way home.
You can make it.
