Glass Castle

A time came when questions
no longer mattered, the matters
of fact bore no weight against feelings
erupting from the palace floor. The glass
castle shattered, sending shards here
and there, through my eyes and beyond,
into time, where ideas dwell, waiting to form.
I was ready, and in a sense
I had asked for the pain, or at least
for the lessons that come with pain.
Now I know. I still find my mind
intact and plugged into the world
of things beyond. I will visit
but make my home here on the earth.
