Something comes again to grip my mind
with the fingers of flowing time,
an uncovered uncertainty, lingering
here in the garden. What fruit waits
to ripen and expose its hidden nectar?
Must all be forbidden? Or are there
some fruits both pleasing to the eye
and good for food?
