Ariadne, the stars shall welcome you
after your journey is done. You have played
your part in the eternal myth. You have shaped
my heart with strength and pith. You were lovely
and terrible, beautiful, tragic, and cruel,
and you brought my life under your rule
for a moment, just long enough to expose
and expunge the minotaur, just long enough
to set us both free. I return now your golden thread.
I will not be needing it, and your cocoon
is near finished. This may be the missing piece.
