Erotic Domination

...pulled my trigger, now he's dead.
We are the only ones that give birth to men.
The family eros ensures control, decides in advance
who can love, and when, and how. It determines
the pecking order, keeping the smallest small forever.
Evil moves downhill, and the youngest must swallow
what no one else wanted to carry. But one can imagine
a love unlike this, a domestic life free from the tyranny
of erotic domination, laced as it always must be
with aggression and the tinge of hate. Can such things be?
It is doubtful, but worth pursuing, because in the final analysis
we are all lovers and cannot escape it, no matter the pain.
But why does the mother use eros?
Can she be so foolish to not understand the damage
of paralyzing the child with confusion, the call to obey
and forever obey her small norms? What gives her the right
to inflict desolation, to banish the child's own potential
for virile endeavors? It is only her fear that makes such things
forgivable, appearing necessary to keep the house in order.
But these things are never necessary. Eros is poison
in the hands of the mother, and trains the child
to switch off his libido forever, leaving him
wishing for death and death alone. Why would he
not flee from all future encounters? How could he
trust them not to be more of the same? And how could he
forgive her, and loosen the shackles of hate, and put down the burden
that drags him forever down into Hades?
