Dwindling Light

The results are in. She comes with a love
drenched in venom, a closed door
masquerading as an open one, dancing
in artificial spotlight, never the light
of day. Was she really there
when morning came, and the gods spoke plainly
about what is past, and passing, and to come?
There would be no clearer answer than a shimmer
in the dwindling light...
