Vanda has her way with him,
then leaves him dangling in pain, half-crucified.
But then comes the resurrection,
Thomas enlivened with newfound strength,
a hidden power allowing him to understand women,
to treat them like women with kindness and respect. He cancels the play
and finds another more suited to his new personality.
