Better Things

A succubus aims for a trauma bond.
She inspires exhaustion and the attendant desperation,
a hunger that only she satisfies. Little does she know
that she hurts herself too. Little does she know
about love without heaps of pain. She would like
to grow wiser, to break the spell that keeps her
sucking, drawing all energy into herself, for it never satisfies.
She needs one love with mutual trust and affection,
but makes herself suited only to vacuuming up energy
wherever she finds it. One day her time would come,
but until then she only can bring destruction. A wise man
will see what she is and flee. A brave one may stay
for a while, to enjoy the show, and to learn her lesson. But all men,
though tempted, must one day move on to better things.
