The Canyon of Life and Death

I did not know I was coming, did not know
that I would appear and arrive in the most
sudden adventure, the deepest and widest ravine
not being enough to consume me. No, I grew taller
and rose to gaze over the edge
of the canyon of life and death, where all
humans depart and arrive. I saw many not knowing,
a few knowing all too well.
