A rainbow reminds of that other storm
so long ago, when the sky was torn open
and man washed away, and now time
with its sweet embrace decides nothing,
and everything flows on forever, towards
some new synthesis, nothing stands still,
amid aching and yearning, denying
and trying, and climbing forever
up those colors, toward heaven...
